6 Tips to Survive Bonnaroo

by Festival June 10, 2014

Every summer the looming fields of Manchester,TN transforms  Almost overnight the scene changes from quiet green farm land to a dancing, crowd-surfing, Ferris wheel riding swirl of madness. That’s right, Bonnaroo is coming. A quick glance of this years lineup makes it look way more epic than last year. Some of the top names that will be performing at Bonnaroo this year are Wiz Khalifa, Jack White, Skrillex, Kanye West, Lauryn Hill and many more. With so many acts coming from outside of Tennessee  the festival might be a little overwhelming for newcomers. We’ve come up with a list of 6 items to help those who are wondering what they might need to bring for the festival this year and oh yeah! You’re welcome.

  1. Backpack – You’ll be carrying at least a couple of pounds and a backpack distributes that weight evenly. Save yourself unnecessary pain and leave the shoulder and cross-body bags at home.
  2. Two pairs of comfortable shoes – Flip-flops and heels just wont go over well. Bring sneakers or boots or something you know will keep your feet comfortable for at least 12 hours each day. And don’t bother buying a new pair of shoes, either…you’ll want to make sure your kicks are broken in already.
  3. Shorts – just take all your pants and shove them under your bed or something. It’s either going to be too hot or too wet for them. Long H &M  skirts might be all right, but if it rains they’re just as bad as pants. Short skirts present another set of problems. Whoever made shorts is the man.
  4. Watch – We know you like to update Instagram and Twitter while also  keeping in touch with friends on your smart phone  when you split up to watch different sets. but one thing you don’t want to do is keep whipping it out and wasting battery life just to check the time. Bring a cheap watch that you don’t mind getting wet.
  5. Water – Last but not least Bonnaroo has a no glass bottles policy, so buy the biggest plastic water bottle you can find and drink it while you wait in line to get in. You’ll be able to refill it all day.
